The idea
Klimup comes from one simple idea: climb up.
Learning is not about being perfect from the start. It is about moving forward: one step, one breakthrough and one success at a time. Klimup is for students who feel stuck, behind or unsure of what they can achieve. It helps them find their gaps, understand what was confusing, build confidence and keep moving upwards.
Every question answered, every topic understood and every weakness overcome is another step up. You do not have to be at the top today. You just have to keep climbing.
Why I built it
I'm Terry, a dad and a software developer. Klimup began when I was playing around, trying to work out how I could help my daughters with their A levels. One is studying Chemistry, with her final exam next year, and the other is studying Economics. They have a tutor, but I wanted to do my bit too.
They were using AI chatbots to get answers, which isn't the same as being tested. When I asked how revision was going, the answer was always "fine", and I had no way of knowing until it might be too late. So I built something where you answer real exam-style questions, see what you actually know, and a parent can see it too.
It started as a small private pilot. The girls showed it to their friends, the friends asked to use it, and that is how it grew into something for other families. I only registered klimup.co.uk on 13 October 2026, so none of this was planned for years.
How it works for families
- Parents ask for an account. Once it is approved, they add their own children and choose the subjects each one studies.
- Students get an email invitation to set their password and start.
- Parents and tutors can follow progress. A tutor with many students can look after them all in one place.
- I approve every parent account and can help if anything goes wrong.
Here to help kids learn
Klimup is here to help my kids, and other kids, learn and pass their exams. It's free, and I'm still just playing around to see what software can do to help young people learn.
I just want my kids and their friends to enjoy it. If they all pass, that's my reward.
What's here, and what's next
Chemistry and Economics (Pearson Edexcel A level) are here now, and more subjects will follow, with Biology coming next. Every question and explanation is checked more than once before it goes live, because wrong information is the last thing a student needs. The companies, countries and numbers in the practice questions are made up, so no real person or business is ever described.
The company behind it
I've been a software developer since 1999 and have founded several companies in the UK. Klimup is a product of Netklip Software Limited, the software house I own. Netklip worked in the UK for 20 years before moving to Nigeria, where it is now registered.
